The Nursing Associate role has been introduced by NHS England to bridge the gap between healthcare support workers and registered nurses. It is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) allowing registered nursing associates to practice in England. Registered Nursing Associates are added to the NMC’s register and are required to uphold the standards of the NMC Code. Read more about the nursing associate role.
